A part of this book was written several years ago – before we even brought our sweet daughter home. I believed that someday I would finish it and tell God’s story. But when we did bring Selah home, reality and our vision of what would be came crashing into each other, and with it, our family struggled to find a new normal. Our little one had far more needs than anyone dreamed possible. She was a very sick girl and we went into survival mode as we did all we could to help her heal.

Grief overtook me and with it went my words. For years I believed I would never actually tell her story because the layers of grief and struggle hindered my view of all God was doing and of the story unfolding before my eyes.

But God.

In His time (always in His time!) He brought me here. This book is a full-circle moment for our family. Because of it, our Selah’s story is touching the hearts of many. The pain of her past has not gone to waste. The glory of our God is being revealed. And she is walking in victory – a victory I questioned because it didn’t look like my vision of victory.
