Winning the Battle Against Issues of Self Worth

This weekend, I had the amazing opportunity to speak alongside the Aspire Women’s Events team. There truly is no greater privilege than sharing the hope of Jesus! I love writing about right here in this space and I love getting to connect with you via email and social media (even though I can sometimes fall behind!). But there is something different about speaking eyes-to-eyes with women. It’s those moments of prayer and those moments where you see God at work and believe that women are stepping toward hope – stepping toward freedom!

Seeing others step towards claiming wholeness in Christ-well,there's just no greater privilege! #hope #selfworth #victory Share on X

Many of you know my story – or most of it anyway. It’s a story of a young broken girl who didn’t have self-worth. The brokenness of longing to be worthy of love and the pain of never feeling enough directed my every step. It lead me into painful experiences and layer upon layer of shame.

But God.

He changed all of that.

But I needed to do my part, as well. We can’t just ask God to heal all our wounds but continue to make the same unhealthy choices.

So, Saturday evening I shared my story, God’s Truth about our self worth, and the intentional steps I needed (and still need) to take toward victory over the shame.

Friends, my prayer for you is that you, too, claim victory over any shame or issues of self-worth that may be haunting you. It’s so important because it affects every single relationship we have and it affects how fully we live life on this side of the cross.

She has the sweetest spirit and in her post, she wrote about self-worth โ™ฅ I’d tell you more about her post, but I think it’s better if you read it yourself! So, read the little clip below and then jump on over to visit her! Plan to be inspired and challenged. And, I know I probably do not need to remind you, but just because the Mama and teacher in me has to come out sometimes … Please give this sweet lady some comment and share love! ๐Ÿ™‚ You won’t regret it โ™ฅ

You can have the ideal body, the intelligence of Einstein and the bank account of untold fortune; the epitome of perfection, and still struggle with your self-worth.

Many of us grew up in unhealthy environments.   Ugly words, abuse, neglect and lack of affirmation has negatively impacted how we feel about ourselves.  Others of us see our self through the tainted vision of the mistakes and the bad choices weโ€™ve made in the past.   Our own critical opinion, along with those engraved in us from past experiences, has become our inner voice.  When combined with the tarnished views of society, these are the measuring sticks we use for our personal worth.  As a result, there is no better way to devalue who we are.

SO HOW ARE WE TO KNOW OUR TRUE WORTH AND VALUE?
